  • Incisions. Around the front of the ear, intratragal, and behind the ear into the hairline.
  • Neck during facelift. Platysmaplasty and removal of neck fat through a small incision under the chin.
  • Logistics. Outpatient, local anesthesia with sedation, anesthesiologist present; operating time typically 4 to 4.5 hours; "only performs one facelift a day."
  • Reoperative facelift. A section addresses secondary facelifts after prior surgery elsewhere.
  • Neck lift. Isolated neck lift (platysmaplasty) with incisions behind the ear and under the chin, no incision in front of the ear; muscle contoured, fat removed, skin tightened; compression neckband for several weeks (neck-lift).
