Facelift and neck lift work
- Facelift types. The facelift page lists mini, SMAS (traditional) and deep plane facelifts; in the SMAS facelift the SMAS is tightened and repositioned, in the deep plane facelift the surgeon works beneath the SMAS releasing facial ligaments (facelift).
- Deep plane facelift. General anesthesia, several hours; SMAS and underlying tissues repositioned as one unit and the skin redraped without tension; EXPAREL local anesthetic and exosome therapy may be added (deep plane facelift).
- Mini facelift. Called the "Rapid Recovery" facelift; outpatient, general anesthesia; desk work by the end of the second week (mini facelift).
- Recovery, as printed. Return to work and light activities by the end of the second week; swelling subsides over several months (facelift, deep plane facelift).
- Neck lift. Local or general anesthesia, two to three hours; incisions under the chin and behind the ears; skin and fat removed and platysma tightened; at least a week off work (neck lift). Neck liposuction page (neck liposuction).
