Facelift and neck lift work

• Deep plane facelift. Incisions along the ear creases into the hairline; muscles and fascia tightened; neck bands under the chin repaired; fat from the abdomen or flanks transferred to the face. The page states the deep plane is entered at the origin of the zygomaticus major muscle, and closure uses subcuticular sutures (deep plane facelift).
• Other facelifts. SMAS facelift under IV sedation with local anesthesia or general anesthesia, about three to four hours (SMAS facelift); small incision facelift with a two to four inch incision in front of the ear, which can be done under local anesthesia in the office; mid-facelift (facelift); mini facelift, also called an S-lift or weekend facelift (mini facelift).
• Deep plane neck lift. Incision beneath the chin and/or behind the ears, under general anesthesia or IV sedation with local; the page also lists cervicoplasty and platysmaplasty (neck lift).
• Recovery. Deep plane facelift: swelling fades after the first week; no vigorous activity for about four weeks. Neck lift: swelling peaks around day three; work or social activities at 2 to 3 weeks; final results within a few months.
