Facelift and neck lift work

  • Deep plane facelift. The page describes lifting the middle and lower face by working in the SMAS layer, releasing the cheek ligaments and elevating the cheek fat pads and muscles; the malar fat pad lift is described as reducing nasolabial folds. The procedure takes about 4 to 6 hours (facelift).
  • Neck with facelift. A neck lift through a small incision under the chin tightens the neck muscles (platysmaplasty), removes excess fat and contours the neck.
  • Facelift recovery. Temporary drains may be used; swelling and bruising peak on day 3 to 4 and have mostly subsided by the third week; return to work within 2 to 3 weeks; final results within 3 to 6 months.
  • Neck lift. Removes excess fat and tightens the neck muscles; submandibular glands may sometimes be removed. General anesthesia or intravenous sedation; about 2 to 3 hours. Return to work within two weeks; strenuous activity avoided for at least two weeks (neck lift).
  • Prices. None published.
